Celebrating Pride Month at Rockton Elementary School

June is Pride Month, a time when communities across Canada recognize and celebrate the diversity that makes us stronger. At Rockton, we are proud to support and affirm all members of our school community, including those who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

In our school, we believe that every student deserves to feel safe, welcome, and valued for who they are. Pride Month provides an opportunity for us to continue building understanding, kindness, and respect among students.

Gr. 9 Orientation for DVSS - Sept. 1st, 2026

Dear Rockton Families,

Dundas Valley Secondary School is hosting its Grade 9 Orientation on Sept. 1, 2026. This will be an opportunity for your student to receive a school timetable, a school tour, photo id, meet staff and students, locker assignment etc.

The event will be held from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Dear HWDSB Community,

June is a meaningful month for many reasons. It marks the beginning of the last instructional month for the 2025-2026 school year, bringing with it a season of transition, achievement, and new beginnings. It also marks the beginning of Pride Month, a time to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, as well as Ontario Day, when we reflect on what it means to call this province home.

Beach Volleyball Summer Camps

Dear Rockton Families,

RiseUp Beach Volleyball, is now open for summer registration for their Beach Volleyball Summer Camps.

For children 3-7, they have the Mini Sand Sharks multisport Beach Camp, July 20-24, from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm.

For children 8-12, they have the Little Snappers Beach Volleyball Camp, July 20-24, from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm, August 4-7, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

The Camp location is Hamilton District Christian High School in Ancaster

Sk Vision Screening Reminder Letter

Dear Rockton Families,

Last month vision screening was completed at Rockton for all SK students. If you received a letter indicating there may be an issue with your child's vision, please book an appointment with an optometrist for a comprehensive eye exam.

If you need help finding an optometrist for your child, please contact Hamilton Public Health at 905-546-2424, ext. 5369.
